“I came to the Fitness Experts having tried gyms and classes but never having been able to stick to it. I weighed 19 stone, was looking and feeling horribly unhealthy and felt that nothing was going to work for me.
Six months later I have lost three stone in weight and have gone from being unable to do press ups to being able to do ten at once. I have lifted 105 kilos (my body weight at the time) and am now on the verge of getting my weight in kilos into double figures for the first time since I had my son more than seven years ago. I have gone from a tight size 22 to a size 18 and I have never felt stronger in my life.
Why has it worked for me this time? Quite simply taking part in Bootcamps is the most motivating exercise experience I have ever had. I actually like exercise for the first time in my life, and finally understand why people want to do it. Each session is different and once the trainers get to know you they make sure you are working as hard as you can and stretching yourself all the time. You just don’t get that with the gym. The other thing that kept me going was the camaraderie among the Bootcampers and the way we all support each other to get through sessions. I was nervous of going to my first few sessions because I was out of shape and was worried that everyone else would be really fit and look down on me. All I can say is the Bootcampers are really friendly and a great group of people to have around you – regardless of your level of fitness.
Recently I began to do personal training sessions with Ross, and this has taken my fitness to a new level because of his focus on me and on what I need to do to reach my goals. There are moments when I want to give up, because the intensity of what he expects me to do can be extreme. However, with his support I have learnt that I have the strength to get through it – and I won’t give up. This is the greatest thing you can learn about yourself and I couldn’t have done it without Ross.

“I came to Boot-Camp knowing I could get stuck in, took me quite a few weeks to get fit, “the sick bag was on hand in the early sessions”…. But I never did actually need it…
Then decided I needed some professional advice. James put it to me that being 24.5% fat content he could get me down to 18% in 12 weeks… “yeah yeah” I thought but nether less did what he said. After 8 weeks I had a 19.2% reading. He said we would re-evaluate and by 12 weeks I would be at 15%….
The pictures of me are from early in March, to today 15th June…. My weight is now 12 stone, at 45 now its been 25 years since I was there, overall 2 stone lost at BC.
A year ago you would not of convinced me in a month of Sundays of these result being achievable…. But the graft has paid off, and of course the expert direction from the fitness experts…I think more of my mates are now thinking of joining boot camp than I can shake a stick at. It has been around a year since I joined Fitness Experts and I was thinking of write this testimony for a while but couldn’t do it because of very busy schedule (even then I’m regular in boot-camps
.
The main reason behind joining was that there was no contract associated with the membership as I was not sure whether I’ll enjoy that or not. I didn’t want to join any so called big gym as I have been a member with the big two’s in last 3-4 years but was not happy as far as my results were concerned.
I must admit that I have made an excellent decision by joining boot camps. I have been a regular from last six months and I’m very pleased with my results. I have lost around 7 Kgs and around 4 inches of waist size. That might not seem a big number but it’s quite significant as I haven’t changed anything in my diet and eating schedules. It’s also quite significant as I’m in an IT job which requires me 8-10 hours of sitting. This time, my fat loss seems permanent as I can see a declining graph of my weight.
I’m also quite happy with the results as I can feel a lot of increase in my strength. I can do more push-ups & more shoulder press now. My next target is to do a Chin-up (I can’t do a single one as of now) and lose another stone in 3-4 months. I want to put a count this time in Fit Test against chin-up which is zero every time.
I’m quite happy with all of the trainers at the boot camps but I want to specially thank Ross, Amy and Ben whose sessions I regularly attend.
I would also like to add that I’m regular in boot-camps now because of 6:15 AM sessions as I need to drive 1:30 hours to reach my office. I was planning to change my house to nearer to my office but didn’t change solely because of the boot-camps. My wife also decided not to renew the membership at a town-centre gym and decided to join boot-camps after seeing my results. It’s one of the rarer occasions when a wife listens to her husband J Thanks for this as well J

Four years ago, at the age of 35 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure despite not being overweight, a non-smoker and not a heavy drinker. I take daily medication to keep it under control, but since I started Boot Camp last June my BP checks show it is now ‘Low Normal’. If my BP continues on this trend, my Dr will take me off my medication at my next review in August (Of course, it will continue to be monitored).
This is without doubt due to my regular BootCamp sessions, as before I joined I was very unfit! To me, this benefit is priceless!

The best decision I made in the last year was to sign up for the Basingstoke Bootcamps .
In the 10 months since joining, Ross and James have taken me from being overweight and having no stamina to being fitter stronger and healthier than I have been for years. And at my age and level of fitness that was no easy task.
Through their supportive approach and continual encouragement they somehow have this knack of being able to push me to new levels beyond where I thought it was possible to go.
I love the early morning sessions. There is a great crew, I have made some good friends and enjoy the camaraderie.
I knew getting fit would be hard but didn’t realise it could also be fun.

There are lots of things I love about Basingstoke Bootcamps, I love that it’s different everytime otherwise I would be bored by now! I also like that although you are in a room with other people you can work at your own pace and level so that you get the best from each bootcamp session.
Probably the thing I value the most is because you have to book into the bootcamp sessions I can plan my week’s exercise and then it happens before other things get in the way – namely excuses, being tired and sitting on the sofa!
Once you’re booked in you are more likely to go and even if you do feel tired, you know that once you get started you are going to feel a lot better. Carole Hughes
I joined Bootcamp 3 months after the birth of my third child and was struggling to lose my pregnancy weight. Not only was this impacting on my physical health but also on my mental wellbeing! As any working mother will tell you, your time is precious and having been members of various gyms throughout my adult life I knew they wouldn’t work for me this time. I needed something different and found this in Bootcamp!
After surviving my first session (not sure how) I was hooked and signed up before my ten day trial had ended! Not only have I lost all my pregnancy weight I have lost a few more lbs which is always welcome and have gone down a whole dress size. My confidence has soared, I’m sleeping better and I’ve even gained some new friends.

Everyone is so friendly and the instructors are so motivational and they spend time to make you feel like you are having a one to one session.
For the first time in 2 years I have actually started to feel good about myself.
Every session is different so there is no chance of getting bored, and the 45 minutes just fly by.

I have been coming to Bootcamp now for about 7 weeks and have lost over half a stone which is spurring me on to lose the other stone and a bit that needs to go!
I feel great that I finally have the energy to exercise and in turn it’s having such a positive impact on my life.
I always come out of the sessions happy and on a natural high (even if I can barely walk!!) It also gives me the opportunity to have some ‘me’ time even if I am working my butt off so thank you!

Both Instructors I had during my trial were great – Ross and Tony. They helped with ensuring i was carrying out the exercises correctly to avoid injury and to ensure i got the most for my efforts.

I am a person who suffers from very low self confidence, and the idea of everyone looking at me working out PETRIFIES me!! However after taking the initial step of signing up for the 10 day trial at Basingstoke Bootcamps, I was amazed at how welcoming everyone was.
I have not felt self-conscious once, all the staff and bootcampers are extremely friendly, and i look forward to working out! (Never thought I’d hear myself say that!!)

As a fully paid up member of CPA (Couch Potatoes Anonymous), exercise didn’t motivate me at all. Coming up to a significant milestone, I decided that life needed to begin, and I heard about Basingstoke Bootcamps.
Looking through the door on my first session, I thought ‘what have I let myself in for ‘, but crossing the threshold the personal trainer in charge talked through the exercises, and encouraged everyone during the class.
Since I started a month ago, I have lost nearly half a stone, and having to go shopping for new trousers! I can honestly say that (in the words of a famous turkey breeder) Bootcamp is ‘Bootiful’, and certainly isn’t ‘camp’! Kevin Oxlade
I decided to start off the new year with the same intention as most – that was to get fit, lose the excess Christmas weight and tone for the new year. A friend suggested the fitness experts. After one session I could see immediately that this was undoubtedly the route to go down.
Unlike gyms, which I have found in the past to actually be quite unsociable, the boot camp sessions are full of buzz, with everybody having a laugh and supporting each other.
The trainers are absolutely brilliant, friendly, fun and exceptional with their knowledge in the field. If you are struggling or feeling like it’s too much they do not scream and shout until you are a mess of sweat and tears on the floor, they treat everyone with care and attention, and get the best results from every session. It’s now only been five weeks and I can already see the change in my body shape. My stomach, thighs and bottom are feeling firmer, my clothes are slightly looser and my strength has increased. It was the best move I have made this year and I can’t wait until the summer when we can all get outside.
I would advise literally anyone of any age, shape or size to give it a go. It beats any gym I have been to hands down in every way.

“I have just completed my 10 day free trial and I really enjoyed every session I went to, I wanted to try out each instructor to get a feel for their classes and type of levels, pressure and variety they put on you.
I must say they all were different which is what I liked, they all have their own style which keeps you interested to what the next class will bring every week. I never believed in this style of workout for weight loss until I put it to the test after much research and realised boot camp, circuits and weights are the BEST for losing weight.
Bootcamp covers all areas and you will see results. The sessions are a good time length (45mins), this makes you work harder and put your all into it, as it is YOUR workout you push yourself the full 45 mins.
In the gym there is no set time and could spend unnecessary hours wasting valuable exercise time that your body needs. The classes are small but larger enough to almost experience one on one training and help along the way.

I have been attending bootcamp for 4 weeks, 3 times a week having attended the ten day trial. Within this time i had 4 different trainers who were all veryknowledgable and have great people skills; they encourage me all the way.
Each bootcamp I have attended has been different and fun, I look forward to each one.
On the very first session I felt feint and very unfit, but after only 4 weeks I can complete the circuit, albeit slower than most, but i know that with determination and help from the trainers I will get there eventually. Lita Boghurst
I joined the Fitness Experts in September last year and I haven’t looked back since….. It’s so different to anything I had ever tried before; the bootcamp sessions are never the same which means you never get bored!
The personal trainers are so good at motivating you and as much as it’s challenging; it’s also lots of fun. All the other members are friendly and welcoming and I have never felt more comfortable in a gym environment. Even though we are all different shapes, ages and fitness levels everyone gets a good workout – the sessions are definitely not a one size fits all, there is something for everyone at every stage of your fitness journey.
In addition to attending Bootcamp sessions, I also have personal training sessions with Ross which has been just what I needed to get me focused on all aspects of my health and fitness plan. It’s hard work but Ross is so encouraging and wants me to achieve my goals as much as I want to achieve them myself. Having stopped smoking on 2nd December 2011 after 25 wasted years, I needed to find something to distract me from thinking about smoking, a way to get fit and to help lose the weight I seemed to be gaining. I took up jogging and bought myself some running trainers and set about going for a jog 4 times a week around the Viables and Brighton Hill area near where I live.
Although this seemed to be helping with my fitness, my weight just remained static even after a diet and lifestyle change so I knew I had to do more. During my runs around Jays close I often looked at the signs for Basingstoke Bootcamps on the roadside, so one evening after another boring run I got home and had a look at the web site, I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about going along after watching some of the Bootcamp videos but I thought I might as well register for a 10 day FREE Trial even if I only go to 1 session and never go back.
Well I went to that 1st session in mid Jan 2012 and yes it hurt but I didn’t feel intimidated being in a group, in fact far from it as the others in the group and the Instructor encourage you to keep going and really push yourself and I wasn’t made to feel any different from people who had been going for months.
I have now been doing 5 bootcamp sessions a week with an extra specialised session on top for the past 4 weeks and I absolutely love it, all the Instructors are slightly different in their approach but all have the same goal, to get you as fit as they can. I love the variety of each session and using equipment you would never get to use in an “everyday gym” e.g. flipping huge Tractor Tyres, lifting Beer barrels, mat of Doom (lol) and pushing the Prowler. As well as using this equipment and more there is also a good variety of floor work on the Abdominals and Cardiovascular system.
Since joining Bootcamp I have lost just over a stone (15lbs) in weight and feel trimmer and so much fitter, this has also led to me eating healthier as you don’t want to undo all that good work by eating rubbish and I now believe, at the ripe old age of 41, I am the fittest I’ve been for 20+ years.
All in all joining Basingstoke Bootcamp was one of the best decisions I have ever made (apart from quitting smoking lol) and it is true what they say “Healthy Body = Healthy Mind” .

The first picture was taken about a year before I started training at The Fitness Experts. At that time I was on a mission to sort myself out. But, as often happens, life intervened and I never got to achieve my goals. I lost my mum, my dog, my relationship and my mind! But in late 2010 I discovered a new way of training and I have not looked back since! I had already started working with kettlebells and I knew I loved them. I knew that the usual ways of training in gyms with cross trainers and treadmills was going out of style. I knew that the way to improve your body, gain strength and feel better about yourself was to push things, pull things, use your own bodyweight and do interval training. All that could be had under one roof with The Fitness Experts.
