This Wednesday night saw our first ever Members’ Forum. Thanks to everyone who attended, it was great to get some feedback from eveyone involved. The meeting was chaired by Jamie (Director) with Ross (Head Trainer) and Andrew Sumner (Shareholder and committe member).
Here is a brief overview of what was covered:
New for 2012!!
-More bootcamp sessions than ever before, specialist sessions included in membership, trialled new time slots for sessions. Some suggestions were made for changes to some time slots and ideas for future specialist sessions were suggested.
-New Therapy team Life Right moved in. Phil, Lesley and their team are now setup and we will be circulating information about their services very soon.
-New Room built for Ross. Also may be used for member seminars/talks/workshops. This meant that the studio lost a bit of floor space so we decided to remove the stage and also the big A Frame to create more space in the studio. (We will be mounting TRX’s on Wall instead to save space.)
-From February 2012 Nutrition Complete program all included in membership and every member will get monthly online fitness magazine as well. Every member will get a personal fitness consultation with one of our 4 Founder Trainers (Ross, James, Ben or Tony)
-Smaller more dedicated team of personal trainers from January 2012 to improve quality and consistancy of Bootcamps. Some of the other PTs who were popular (Like Gary!) may still help us with covering Bootcamps. Also new profile boards and T-shirts to make it clearer for new members who is who!
-New Water Coolers to replace Jugs by popular request!
-Ross appointed Head Trainer, now responsible for monitoring quality of Bootcamps, personal training and more!
-New Cleaner – Elaine.
-New Equipment fund for personal trainers to reinvest in the studio’s equipment. Also continuing to reinvest in Bootcamp equipment. New med balls and barbells bought in January.
-Training Courses now running at weekends in the studio so our trainers can learn new skills and make bootcamps even more fun, challenging and varied! Upcoming courses include Mega Band training, kettlebells and olympic lifting.
-We are hoping to have a changing room refurb later this year, our landlord is getting quotes and plans together at the moment…more details to follow.
-Fit Test returns! We didn’t run in January because there were so many new bootcamp members starting but its back in February then every 6-8 weeks…may have a few changes too.
Open Q+A for members…
-Suggested that we try 7am start time instead of 715am. We will look to try this in March- look out for timetable change.
-Also asked why we changed some lunchtime sessions to 1315. We were just experimenting to try and increase numbers. May change back to 1215 after analysis at end of February.
-Asked if we could do something about members sweating on the bootcamp floor. Difficult one in some sessions where everyone is moving around quickly…but we will be reminding members to bring towels to bootcamp (If you sweat then you can try and sweat on your towel or wipe down after you) and we also use disinfectent spray and wipe up any sweat patches at the end of sessions. At the end of the day sweat is a byproduct of all the hard work eveyone puts in at bootcamp but if we can all do our best to keep things clean then that will help!
-Being able to cancel sessions less than 1 hour before start time. Unanimous feedback that this should be 30 minutes not 1 hour. This has been changed already.
-Suggestions for different specialist sessions including stretching session. Will be considered but we don’t want too many specialist sessions, just one per trainer so the majority are Bootcamps.
